Last Thursday, I asked: “Why Isn’t Anyone Leaving Comments On This Blog?" A few of you were kind enough to leave answers in the comments section—the irony of which nearly caused a tear in the space-time continuum (thank God for bubble gum). Well, since then, it’s occurred to me the point is moot. I love conversations, but I’m only so-so on comment threads—so say so long to comment threads. From this point forward, and for the foreseeable future (i.e., until I change my mind again… I tend to do that), we’ll be reverting to the olden days of Read JDM when email roamed the earth with dinosaurs and one-way media gatekeeper conversation ruled the day. This goes for my weekly columns, too. Free speech is dead. Long live free speech! I’m not sure why I feel the need to tell you this. After all, it’s my website; I can do whatever I want to do. And, besides, the blog wasn’t getting too many comments anyway; it’s not like anyone’s gonna complain. But I was particularly proud of the “thank God for bubble gum” line, and it was too late to turn back by the time it popped into my head.
